Every holiday season, Saratoga Living and Capital Region Living magazines team up to present Capital Region Gives Back, a celebration of the people who help make our community a better place. Here’s how it works: We select 10 individuals—five from the Saratoga area and five from the greater Capital Region—who are involved in nonprofit work in some way, whether they are a founder, employee, board member, or supporter of an organization. We tell their stories in our Holiday Issue, which hits newsstands in November, and then honor them at a cocktail party and awards ceremony in December. The event serves as a fundraiser for all of the honorees’ respective organizations; when you buy tickets, you’ll select one of the 10 nonprofits, and 50 percent of the cost of your ticket will be donated directly to that organization. The honoree that brings in the most money for their nonprofit is crowned that year’s Capital Region Gives Back winner.
